Gold's move is about real yields, not fear

Every gold rally gets a 'safe haven' narrative slapped on it. This one is cleaner than that: real yields are drifting lower and official-sector buying is persistent. Positioning isn't stretched, which is why the move has been orderly. Constructive while real rates cooperate. The thesis breaks if growth reaccelerates and the front end reprices hawkish.
